Official framework and preparation coverage
SBI publishes the stages, sections, marks, timings and Communication Skills tasks. It does not publish an exhaustive coaching-style chapter list that guarantees every future question. The useful distinction is simple: the framework is official; the topic clusters below are a preparation map based on the skills the paper demands and the families seen in PYQs.
Prelims coverage
Quant starts with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, averages and approximation. Those relationships reappear in profit and loss, interest, mixture, partnership, time and work, speed and distance, and DI. Build calculation accuracy, but first learn to identify what the data is saying. A DI table is a reading problem before it becomes an arithmetic problem.
Reasoning includes arrangements, seating, order, ranking, direction, relations, inequalities, syllogism, coding and alphanumeric logic. The common skill is faithful translation: represent the conditions before testing cases, and do not add a condition the question did not give.
English combines reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, grammar, fillers, sentence correction, para arrangement and usage. A rule is useful when it explains the meaning and relationship of a sentence; isolated memorisation is not enough.
Mains coverage
Mains DI can use tables, caselets, comparisons, arithmetic and incomplete information. Practise reading units, identifying the ask and estimating the construction cost of a set before calculating.
Mains Reasoning and Computer Aptitude can require multi-variable arrangements, logical conditions, data sufficiency, critical reasoning and technology-related information. Use recent PYQs to understand the demand, not to promise an exact format.
GA/Economy/Banking is more useful as a connected system than as a pile of headlines. Link current events to RBI, regulators, payments, financial institutions, schemes and the economy. Then test retrieval without notes.
Communication Skills needs separate practice for Email, Situation Analysis, Report and Precis. Each has a different purpose. Practise clear, relevant and concise responses rather than one universal template.
How to use the map
Layer the work. First repair cross-topic foundations: calculation, reading and condition representation. Then add timed Prelims sets and Mains interpretation. Keep a small weekly Communication Skills slot and a daily-to-weekly-to-monthly GA retrieval habit.
Do not postpone Mains until the Prelims result, and do not call every coaching topic “official”. If a PYQ exposes a weakness in percentages, repair the relationship before collecting another chapter. If a puzzle is understood but slow to represent, practise diagrams and ordering. The official framework stays fixed; the study route should respond to evidence.
