SBI PO 2026-27: Notification and Current Recruitment Status

A plain-English reading of the SBI PO 2026-27 notification: 1,500 vacancies, the completed application window, the 28 August 2026 Prelims result, and what candidates should verify in the next official notice.

SBI PO 2026-27: what the notification says

SBI PO 2026-27 is the Probationary Officer recruitment cycle under advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09. The notification advertised 1,500 vacancies. Registration opened on 18 June 2026 and closed on 8 July 2026. SBI lists the Preliminary Examination result as announced on 28 August 2026.

Those dates describe completed events. They should not be mixed with a coaching calendar or an expected date for Mains. A future date becomes official only when SBI publishes the relevant notice, call letter or result.

How to read the current cycle

The advertisement is the starting point for eligibility, vacancies, the exam sequence and application conditions. A later corrigendum can change one part of that reading; in this cycle the CIBIL-related clause was removed by corrigendum. The result notice confirms a result event, while a call letter supplies instructions for a later stage. These documents have different jobs, so one should not be used as a substitute for another.

The current cycle has already moved beyond registration and Prelims. A candidate who has qualified should now watch SBI Careers for the Mains notice and prepare for the published structure. A candidate who has not qualified can use the result and preparation record to diagnose the screening attempt. The phrase “result announced” describes the recruitment event, not the outcome of every candidate.

What is confirmed and what is still open

Keep a small record with three columns: event, evidence and next action. Registration is evidenced by the advertisement and its closing date. The Prelims result is evidenced by SBI's result notice dated 28 August 2026. The next examination date, venue instructions and any later-stage document requirements should remain open until SBI publishes them.

Do not turn an expected month into an exact date. Check the advertisement number and the publication date whenever several SBI notices appear together. The official Current Openings page is the safest place to start; use a secondary explanation only to understand wording, not to establish an event.

What to do after the result

Shortlisted candidates should move into Mains work immediately. The Mains is not a harder version of Prelims alone: it adds deeper Data Analysis and Interpretation, multi-condition Reasoning, General Awareness/Economy/Banking and Communication Skills. Candidates who wait for every future date before starting lose useful preparation time.

Candidates who were not shortlisted should preserve their score details, section timing and question-selection notes. Ask which decisions cost marks, then repair that cause before the next recruitment cycle. In both cases, keep the permanent Exam Hub for the cycle overview and Latest Updates for dated announcements.

The notification is a dated authority. Read it alongside later official notices, keep completed events separate from plans, and let the next verified document—not a repeated social-media message—change your schedule.
