SBI Clerk cutoff is State-wise, not one national number
The most important difference from SBI PO is that SBI Clerk merit and cutoffs are tied to the State/UT and category. A single "SBI Clerk cutoff" without a State is therefore incomplete.
Historical public tables are also uneven: some years report full category breakups for many States, while older summaries sometimes preserve only the General cutoff for a State. The safest analysis is to keep blanks as blanks rather than manufacture category values.
Five-year General-category trend: Prelims
The table below uses seven representative/high-volume States to show how sharply the same exam can move across locations.

A student should notice the instability, not try to predict the next exact number. Rajasthan, for example, moved from 77.75 in 2021 to 57.25 in 2023 and back to 77 in 2025. Maharashtra moved differently. That is why a national target based on one State is misleading.

Mains shows the same State-wise variation. Tamil Nadu's General cutoff reached 97.75 in 2025, while Karnataka was 78.50 in the same cycle. Historical cutoffs reflect vacancies, paper/shift performance, candidate distribution and the number of places available in that State.

The category pattern is not a fixed discount from UR. In some State/year combinations several categories have the same cutoff, while in others the gaps are substantial.

How to use previous cutoffs
Prelims cutoff is a screening threshold. Mains cutoff is the competitive selection threshold before the local-language condition and document checks. They are different stages and should not be compared as if the marks mean the same thing.
Do not prepare "for last year's cutoff." Build enough margin that a change in State-wise competition does not destroy the plan. Use previous cutoffs to understand variability and to judge whether mock performance is comfortably competitive, not to stop preparation at a historical number.
PYQs are useful for understanding question decisions and recurring structures, but they cannot predict the next cutoff or exact topic mix. For the active 2026-27 cycle there is no valid Prelims or Mains cutoff yet because those examinations/results have not been completed.
