Read the stream before reading a score
SEBI Grade A is stream-specific: General, Legal, IT, Research, Official Language and Engineering streams share the broad phases but Paper II changes materially. Historical cutoffs cannot be used as a universal target because vacancies, stream, category, paper design and shortlisting conditions differ.
What the official framework shows
Phase I is a two-paper screening examination; Phase I marks do not count toward final selection.
Phase II combines descriptive English with a General or specialist Paper II and carries the written-selection weight.
Interview follows Phase II; the 2025 framework gives Phase II 85% and interview 15% weightage.
Use history responsibly
Compare the official scheme, not coaching estimates. A prior result may help explain that distinct Paper II skills matter, but it cannot tell a candidate what a future cutoff will be.
