Make the stream the centre
SEBI Grade A General and specialist streams share an aptitude-based Phase I Paper I, but Paper II is the professional or General-stream differentiator. Start with the official stream eligibility and Paper II syllabus.
Banking Legends method
| Step | SEBI Grade A application |
|---|---|
| Structure | Map the two papers in both phases and the selection role of Phase I, Phase II and Interview. |
| Base | Build financial-sector, securities-market and stream-specific concepts before rushing into timed practice. |
| Interpretation | Read regulatory, accounting, finance or specialist questions for the legal or technical issue actually presented. |
| Calculation | Use precise quantitative work in the time allowed; accuracy comes before forced speed. |
General stream
Develop commerce, accountancy, management, finance, costing, Companies Act and economics as an integrated Paper II foundation.
Practise concise descriptive English drafting for Phase II.
Use SEBI publications and official material to understand regulatory context.
Specialist streams
Legal, IT, Research, Official Language and Engineering candidates should make their notified Paper II the priority. The General-stream Paper II plan does not cover specialist depth.
Interview
After the written stages, prepare to explain your application and subject understanding clearly. Do not manufacture technical experience or claims.
