SBI Clerk 2026-27: where the recruitment stands

SBI's Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) recruitment for 2026-27 is being conducted under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. Online registration ran from 11 August to 31 August 2026, so the application stage is now over. The next stage is the Preliminary Examination, tentatively scheduled for September 2026, followed by the Main Examination tentatively in November 2026.

The vacancy structure is state-wise. The notification lists 7,680 regular vacancies and separate backlog vacancies; the notification-derived references used for this package report 9,124 posts in total. Regular vacancies alone are distributed across 24 States/UTs and candidates apply for one State/UT only. That matters because selection, local-language requirements and cutoffs are not national in the way students sometimes assume.

What candidates should watch now

The application closing date is a completed event. Do not convert a tentative month into an exact exam date until SBI publishes the call letter or another official notice. The safest sequence is simple: check the SBI Careers Current Openings page, match Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17, and then read the notice or call-letter link attached to that recruitment.

At this point, a candidate should keep the application print, fee receipt where applicable, identity details and the State/UT/local-language choice together. The local-language choice is not a minor form field; it affects the State/UT for which you compete and whether you later need the Local Language Proficiency Test.

What the current timeline means for preparation

Because Prelims is only the screening stage, the period after registration should not become a Prelims-only phase. The Prelims structure is fixed at 100 questions in 60 minutes with separate 20-minute sections, while Mains is a 190-question, 200-mark paper with General/Financial Awareness, English, Quant and Reasoning & Computer Aptitude.

A sensible plan therefore keeps Prelims speed work in the foreground but starts Mains preparation in parallel. In particular, General/Financial Awareness cannot be built comfortably after the Prelims result.

Confirmed vs tentative

Confirmed: advertisement number, application window, age/qualification reference dates, State/UT and local-language rules, exam structure and negative marking.

Tentative: the month of Prelims and the month of Mains until SBI issues exact dates. Admit card, result and any revised schedule should not be shown as available unless SBI publishes them.

For the active cycle, the official SBI Careers page remains the final authority for any new event.
