Candidate English Language या Hindi Language में से एक चुनता है। बाकी sections का medium State/notification rules के अनुसार होता है।
Negative marking — important
Wrong objective answer पर उस question के assigned marks का one-fourth deduct होता है। Blank answer पर penalty नहीं है।
Main में हर question पर fixed “-0.25” कहना सही नहीं है, क्योंकि कुछ sections में 40 questions हैं लेकिन marks 50 या 20 हैं।
Qualification
Prelims में required tests/cutoffs clear करने के बाद Main आता है। Main में applicable requirements clear करने पर Interview shortlisting होती है।
Pattern का meaning
Prelims केवल Reasoning + Quant है। Main में GA + Computer के 80 questions, Language के 40 questions और higher-mark Reasoning/Quant sections हैं। इसलिए Prelims-only preparation structurally incomplete है।
Interview
Main के बाद 100-mark Common Interview होता है। Final relative weight Main 80 : Interview 20 है।
