Begin with the cadre
Choose a plan only after reading the official eligibility and scheme for General, DEPR or DSIM. For the Banking Legends core General audience, Phase II economics, finance, management and descriptive writing deserve regular attention from the start.
Banking Legends method
| Step | RBI Grade B application |
|---|---|
| Structure | Map Phase I, Phase II and Interview, including the different General and specialist pathways. |
| Base | Build economics, finance, management, English writing and regulatory concepts before increasing timed volume. |
| Interpretation | Practise connecting data, policy language and a question’s demand rather than memorising isolated headlines. |
| Calculation | Use accurate quantitative and data interpretation work within the Phase I time boundary. |
General cadre focus
Maintain a deliberate economy, finance and management revision system for Phase II.
Write concise, structured answers under the official descriptive format rather than relying on generic essays.
Use RBI publications and other primary material for regulatory context; distinguish facts from commentary.
DEPR and DSIM
Specialist candidates should keep their academic discipline at the centre and use the official appendix as the paper boundary. A General-stream strategy is not a substitute for specialist economics or statistics preparation.
Interview
Prepare only after the written stages are secure: understand the application, the role and the policy or technical concepts you claim to know. Do not invent experience or use memorised claims.
