Start with the recruitment structure
IBPS PO/MT requires a qualifying Preliminary Examination followed by a Main Examination, Personality Test and Interview. Do not treat Mains as an afterthought: the official Main Examination contains Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation and a descriptive English test.

Prepare in two tracks
Prelims track: timed English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability practice that protects accuracy under sectional timing.
Mains track: regular Data Analysis & Interpretation, higher-order reasoning, banking/economy awareness and concise descriptive writing.
Review track: record why an attempt failed—concept, interpretation, calculation, time choice or careless error—then repair that cause.
Use tests as feedback, not a substitute for learning
A mock or sectional is useful after you have something specific to test. Review a small number deeply: identify questions you misunderstood, questions you should have left, and concepts that need rebuilding. A rising test count alone is not preparation.
Before the interview stage
First secure the Main Examination. If invited for Interview, prepare from your application, the official role context and current banking awareness; do not manufacture experiences or rely on memorised scripts.
